Amsterdam is one of my favorite cities in the world. When I went last November after my trip to Antwerp I fell in love with it, which to be honest was a little unexpected. Most people fall in love with Paris or Rome but Amsterdam is my jam. This city is a perfect size, I love the canals, the bike culture, the Dutch, the food is great, its super international and everyone speaks english which is nice. The design is beautiful and the apartments super cute. I oddly feel super at home there, I think I must of lived there in another life :) This time around I swung through for a long weekend to see some friends in between my time in Copenhagen and Paris. I dined at De Kas with my pal Sam. The most beautiful restaurant with gardens surrounding and an indoor greenhouse. Cruising around on a bike in this city is one my favorite things to do in the world, my time there is never long enough. Love you Amsterdam, be back soon. Not sure if y'all are familiar with One Fine Stay? They are a luxury apartment rental service who has spaces in London, Paris, New York and Los Angeles. They have two very beautiful well designed magazines Homes and Guestbook, which are only available in the homes they rent. It's a little sad, I think they should be released to the public, they're so pretty! Last spring I shot a feature for them in one of their Brooklyn brownstones. I've stayed in a couple One Fine Stay apartments, one in London and one in Paris. I highly recommend it, they supply you with an iPhone and all these luxury amenities which is great. Thanks Lisa and Jonathan for your pretty faces, and April for your styling skillz.
On my way back from the west coast in April I made a quick 36 hour stop in Indianapolis to shoot Milktooth for Food & Wine's Best New Chefs. Its such a little gem of a place set in an old auto body shop. I really loved the whole crew that worked there and the food is fab! Jonathan and Ashley are the most lovely people and so talented. Super well deserved on all the great press they've been receiving. If you are ever in Indy you gotta go check them out!

How lame am I? I meant to share these images ages ago but time got away from me. Better late then never. I shot the amazingly talented Matt Dick of Small Trade Co. last August in San Francisco's Mission District. The images ran in the Volume 16 of Kinfolk. I met Matt through my friend Adele of Voices of Industry whom shared the amazing studio spaces that Heath hosts for a select group of creatives. Matt's studio space is beyond inspiring and I got sucked in immediately. Read his full interview below.
As part of Best New Chefs this year I was commissioned to shoot two of the restaurants included in Food & Wine's yearly selection. Zoi Antonitsas chef of Westward in Seattle was part of the talented bunch. Westward is located on the water with a gorgeous view of downtown Seattle. The Mediterranean inspired menu encompasses lots of fresh local seafood set in a beautiful nautical setting. Grab a seat outside in one of the adirondack chairs by the fire pit and watch the sunset with a dozen oysters and a bottle of rose, you wont be bummed.
